Our Team
Mrs Jo Williams
(Registered Osteopath, Sports Massage Therapist, Medical Acupuncturist)
Jo Williams is a registered Osteopath who achieved a First Class Integrated Master’s degree in Osteopathy from the European School of Osteopathy. Jo is registered with the General Osteopathic Council, and she is insured with and also a member of the Institute of Osteopathy. Jo’s training includes a Foundation in Modern Acupuncture, qualifying her to undertake dry needling alongside her other treatment techniques. Jo is also an experienced Sports Massage Therapist having completed her VTCT Level 4 Sports Massage and Kinesiology Taping qualification in 2012.
As part of her Master’s Degree, Jo trained in various treatment approaches incorporating spinal and joint manipulations, articulation and stretch techniques including; muscle energy technique and strain / counterstain, myofascial release, plus cranial and visceral mobilisation. Jo has a special interest in Headache Management having undertaken postgraduate studies from The University College of Osteopathy EdACHE group, including identification, classification, screening for Primary or Secondary type headaches, diagnosis and treatment of headaches and migraines’
Mr Stuart Williams
(Private Pilots Licence, ITEC Diploma Sports Massage Therapy)
Stuart Williams is a fully qualified ITEC Sports Massage Therapist and is insured with the FHT. Stuart completed two years of sports injury training where he developed various treatment approaches including:
- Muscle energy technique.
- Strain/counterstrain.
- Trigger point work.
- Deep tissue friction work.
- Kinesiology Taping.
- Rehabilitation and muscle recruitment advice.
Stuart will talk through your medical history before performing some tests in order to diagnose your condition. As well as his sports injury treatment, Stuart is co-owner and practice manager here at Williams Osteopathy. Outside of the practice, Stuart enjoys tinkering with classic cars and walking along Devon’s beautiful beaches.
Dr Richard Goslin
(Clinical Podiatrist, Doctorate in the Sociology of Health and former Podiatric Surgeon)
We offer a full range of foot treatments here at Williams Osteopathy under the care of Dr Richard Goslin. Richard is an experienced Clinical Podiatrist and former Podiatric Surgeon, and the treatments we offer include:
- Routine foot care – including removal of callouses and corns.
- Fungal nails – using a Clearanail system, small holes are formed in the nail plate which allows the anti-fungal spray to reach the problem area.
- Biomechanics – including Orthotics / bespoke insoles to improve posture and stability and for those with dropped arches or bunion formation.
- Minor surgery – for ingrown toenails, removal of skin lesions and verrucas.
Ms Claire Hicks
(Nutritional Medicine, Iridology, Reflexology)
Claire qualified with a distinction from the Plaskett Nutritional Medicine College in 1997 and she then set up in private practice working at natural health clinics across the south coast.
She currently covers East and West Sussex, Hampshire, Dorset, Surrey, Somerset, Devon and Cornwall.
In 2001, Claire introduced Reflexology into her practice after completing several courses and upgrading to become a full member of the Association of Reflexologists.
Along with treating a wide variety of health problems, over the years Claire has taught for adult education, lectured to students of complementary therapies, given talks to Women’s Institutes as well as similar groups and has provided workshops for various support groups such as arthritis, heart disease and diabetes associations. She has also worked with charities such as Mind and Care for the Carers to provide educational and fun sessions for participants.
